Connecticut Water Service, Inc. (the parent of Maine Water) annouces Fourth Quarter and 2011 Earnings

Connecticut Water Service, Inc. (NASDAQ GS: CTWS) announced net income of $11.3 million and earnings per basic average share (EPS) of $1.31 for 2011, compared to net income of $9.8 million and EPS of $1.14 for 2010. In 2011, total revenue grew to $75.6 million from $72.8 million in 2010, an increase of $2.8 million, or 3.8%. Total revenue includes all revenues generated by the Company’s three business segments: Water Activities, Services and Rentals, and Real Estate.

Five Parties Cooperate to Conserve Ragged Mountain Land

The Maine Water Company has completed the purchase of 167 acres on Ragged Mountain, part of its ongoing effort to own and manage the watershed of the public water supply for its six-town Mirror Lake water system serving the towns of Camden, Rockport, Rockland, Thomaston, Owls Head and Warren. This is the result of a strong cooperative effort between the water company, former owners of the land, two land trusts, and the Camden Snow Bowl.
