This project is part of a collaborative effort with Old Orchard Beach, who received a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to improve the Washington Avenue Neighborhood. Maine Water will be replacing 3,600 feet of 134 year-old water main, which will positively impact fire protection in the area due to increased pipe size and two additional hydrants.
The CDBG project also includes sewer and drainage projects, sidewalks and a new traffic plan.
Coordinating the work together helps lower costs and reduce impacts to residents and drivers.
Estimated completion date: Fall 2021
