We will be working on Monday, November 16, 2020 in the area of the Elm Street intersection at Scammon, Thorton and Temple in Saco to replace two valves which are each over 100 years old. Replacing these valves will improve reliability and provide us greater control of water flow for any future infrastructure work.
We are working in partnership with the Saco Police Department to conduct this project safely for our employees, contractors, residents and commuters. Multiple flaggers and officers will be on site aiding with traffic control per a city-approved traffic control plan.
Elm Street will be alternating one way traffic at times. Side roads may also be impacted by restrictions on turning or possible temporary closures.
On Monday, November 16th, work will begin at 6:00am. This project is expected to last one day, with the potential for some final work on Tuesday, November 17th.
Any customers who may temporarily lose water service as a result of this work will be notified by Maine Water.
