Skowhegan - Route 201 Tank

About the Project:

The Route 201 Skowhegan Tank Project involves replacement of 1,000 feet of old 6-inch Asbestos Concrete main with 12-inch ductile iron main, along with installation of an additional 2,100 feet of new 12-inch ductile iron main extending to the site for our new water storage tank on Dave View Drive.

The existing water storage tank on Chamberlain Street has been in service for decades and is in need of replacement. Constructing a new tank along with increasing size of water infrastructure will allow for better fire protection and water quality once completed.

The project contractor for installation of water main on Route 201 will be Nitram Excavation. Further contractors have not been selected for the tank site work and other appurtenances.

This project is funded by the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF). This fund provides grants and loans for public drinking water improvements. More info can be found here.

Construction Phase: 2019 Completion

Traffic Update:

Maine Water Company's Contractor will be equipped with appropriate signs, barricades, and lighting to provide safe construction zones. Work in the Madison Avenue intersection will be conducted at night.
