Water Main Extensions

  1. Developer must submit new construction application to Engineering (newservice@mainewater.com)
  2. Developer must submit design drawings to MWC
  3. MWC to provide Ability to Serve Letter (if required)
  4. MWC to review and comment or approve design drawings
  5. MWC & Developer to execute Water Main Extension Agreement
  6. Developer must provide payment of a deposit for estimated cost provided by MWC to execute main extension
  7. Developer to execute Easement Deed (if required)
  8. Developer to execute Subdivision Control & Shoreland Zoning and provide to MWC
  9. Developer to review MWC Terms and Conditions, Material Standards, and Installation Instructions and Details. Developer is responsible for providing MWC specifications to their Contractor.
  10. Developer to schedule inspection with MWC for connection to MWC owned infrastructure
  11. Developer to schedule inspection for pressure testing and disinfection
  12. Developer to provide passing disinfection sample results to MWC
  13. Developer to provide as-built drawings to MWC
  14. MWC to turn on new water main
  15. MWC & Developer to execute Bill of Sale
  16. Developer to provide final project costs separated as water main costs and service line costs
  17. MWC to true up expenses and provide refund or bill
