Maine Water Company and Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT) announced today a partnership that will permanently conserve more than 250 acres of forest and open space in a key watershed area of the Saco River in western Biddeford.

A new drinking water treatment facility will ensure an adequate supply of high-quality drinking water for customers in our Kezar Falls water system well into the future.

Maine Water invested $14 million updating drinking water infrastructure in 2024 with projects in 12 communities across the state to increase service reliability, improve flow for fire protection and maintain water quality for customers.

Water service and fire protection share a long, collaborative history going back centuries and continues to this day.
